How to Troubleshoot if Your AnchorCard Opportunity Videos Aren’t Showing

If you added a video link to your AnchorCard but the video doesn't show up there are a few things you can do to troubleshoot and figure out why. Here are questions to ask to narrow down why your video isn't showing up:

Is the video publicly available? #

Your AnchorCard supports Vimeo and Youtube videos but both Vimeo and Youtube have their own privacy settings. On Vimeo your video must be set to “public“or “hide from Vimeo.” On Youtube, your video must be set to “public” or “hidden.”

If you are the owner of the video you can learn more about privacy settings on Youtube here, and on Vimeo here.

Do you have permission to embed the video? #

Both Youtube and Vimeo have settings which allow the owner iof the video to decide if the video may be embedded onto another website or not. On Vimeo the video must be set to, ” Anywhere.” On Youtube the video must be set to, “Allow on all domains.” Any other embedding setting will prevent the video from showing up on your AnchorCard because the owner of the video has chosen not to allow their content to be embedded.

If you are the owner of the video you can learn more about embedding settings on Youtube here, and on Vimeo here.

What if I'm not the owner of the video? #

If you are the owner of the video then you can easily change your settings any time. However, if you're not the owner of the video you cannot change the settings of that video and need to respect the wishes of the original owner of that content. The best solutions in this case are to either reach out to that content creator to find out if there is an alternative option for your to use their video or to use a different video altogether.
