When ish hits the fan during the week it's easy to forget social media as a marketing tool. And that's not your fault – your actual life HAS to come before social media.
But also, your social media is your main connection to your clients – it's how you nurture the relationship when you are apart.
So what's the solution? Plan ahead!
Each week schedule 30 minutes to pre-write 5 posts. They don't all need to be groundbreaking, but they should each serve a specific purpose – for example:
- Ask for people's opinions to boost engagement
- Share something personal to help connect with your audience
- Ask a question to help your audience think more deeply about a specific topic
By giving each post a purpose you can condition your audience to know that your posts are valuable and they should pay attention – rather than scroll right by.
Now, if you're like me, the idea of remembering to find pictures and copy-and-paste captions sounds like just one more task to forget on your already over-full to-do list.
So instead of trying to set reminders and hope that it's convenient for me to post during the times when my audience is online (check your Facebook Page or Instagram Business Profile Insights to see when your audience is active), I use software called Planoly.
I love Planoly for 2 reasons:
- The free version is amazing
- It's visual and easy to use – just upload your photos, add captions and schedule when they should auto-post for you.
You can even save hashtags and add a first comment to insta posts (that's where I put my tags!). Try saving 2 or 3 different sets of tags to help save more time!
